WEB APPLICATION FIREWALL SECURITY ANALYST

COURSE OVERVIEW

WILL I GET A CERTIFICATE?

This training is designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of what a Web Application Firewall (WAF) is, the types of WAFs available, and the approach to installing WAFs to protect web applications against external threats and prevent data leakage. By using industry-leading WAFs as examples, the course covers the configuration, administration, fine-tuning, alerting, and reporting of WAFs with sufficient hands-on exercises.

Since WAFs examine the entire network packet, they have extensive logging capabilities and can record application-specific commands. It is important to carefully define what information your firewall should log, ideally consisting of full request and response data, including headers and body payloads. Having a Web application firewall in place as part of a layered security model allows you to observe, monitor and look for any signs of intrusion.

Why should you attend this training? By having a Web Application Firewall in place as part of a layered security model, you can observe, monitor, and look for any signs of intrusion and accordingly secure your corporate network.

After completing the training, you will be able to answer the following questions:
- How well does WAF meet your organization’s security policy objectives and regulatory requirements?
- Do you have the required in-house skills to use WAF correctly and effectively?
- How will WAF affect your existing services and users, and at what cost?
- Will your WAF be able to scale up to meet your peak throughput?

Once you satisfy the requirements of the final practical certification test, you will be awarded a “Web Application Firewall Security Analyst” certificate and will hold the WFSA certification.
